This page contains inform­ation on WordPress plugins and other techie stuff for anyone producing a similar site. Almost all of the plugins and other software used on this site were free, so this is also a chance to say ‘thank you’ to the people who produced them. 

The site uses the WordPress Twenty Twelve theme.

The route maps and profiles are produced using the WP GPX Maps (or the developer’s own site Dev Farm). Appropriately it’s a WordPress plugin ‘Made in Italy’. Producing the site would have been a whole lot harder without it and wouldn’t work anything like as well.

The galleries were made possible by another plugin ‘Made in Italy’: Flickr Photostream

Other maps including the regional maps of cycleways and cycle routes, were produced using Google’s Fusion Tables.
